Was thinking maybe dip them in acetone or something just to make

Welcome n2hyo,

That might work, another way is to use some very fine sand paper.

Ok I see your point about needing a dipping liquid... One thing to try in addition to the acetone would be muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide. They are all stored in some type of plastic bottle but you might get lucky. I would be interested to know what works in the end.

Ok good thoughts. I still have not tried it but may go with a dip in thinned white silicone.

I'll let you know what i finally do, i need to get cracking. Maybe i iwll break
out the acetone and see what happens this afternoon.

You could try lighter fluid or brake clean, just dont leave either on too long. Go buy some frost os semi transparent paint. Ive seen semi gloss clear coat before. That would be the quickest

I think brake cleaner was about the only thing i didn't try, acetone, xylene and a few others did nothing but clean the led. I would have been happy if it had crazed the surface abit but nothing. I ended up finding a dremel grinding tool with a perfect size cup on it so i did that, went pretty fast even though i had 64 leds to do.
