Hi there, I am new to this hacking game.

I build electric bikes.

We use Brushless Speed controllers which are based on certain chipsets.

We know that these controllers can be programmed. We know the retailers are programming them for the 3-speed control, cruise, regen, and Low-Voltage cut-off etc.

However, the Chinese online-retailers are adamant that they cannot be programmed. We know this to be false. We know it to be false because they are asking us how would we like them to be programmed before they sell them to us.

We also suspect that the retailers are programming the controllers, then "locking" them in some way. We also suspect that if the chips are not locked, that if they get wind that we are modding them, that they will in the future, lock them.

Is anyone here familiar with this sort of thing. Please ask me any questions you wish so I can start trying to give you the information you need.

Thanks a lot. Laughing Rolling Eyes
