First time on the forum but it seems like you all know your stuff.
I'm helping my brother with a DIY project and not really sure where to start. He needs to wirelessly transfer data from an elliptical like watts, rpm, and time. The data should be transferred to a computer/ipad wirelessly and automatically populated on a spreadsheet. It seems simple enough and I think i understand the idea, its just the execution and parts that i'm confused on.
Does anyone have any ideas/tips?
Thanks in advance! |

Two possibilities come to my mind immediately;
Option 1. Build a small radio transmitter and receiver, transmit the data over radio waves!
Option 2. You could also use a lazer pointed at a photo-resistor to transmit the data via light, light is faster than electricity but it is important to take into account the light level in the room and the time it takes for the photo-resistor to react to light. _________________ The Green Dungeon Alchemist. |
