I'm trying to switch to a Dvorak keyboard, and wow is it ever hard!
I can type just under 20 words per minute, hunting and pecking "qwerty" lol
I never learned home row so I thought it would be an easy switch lol

How fast can you type and does anyone use this keyboard layout? Smile

That sounds painful! What prompted the experimental switch? I say experimental because I know you will be back to qwerty very soon.

I think that was the first time I ever wrote qwerty and it is sure a pleasure on this keyboard, not so much on yours. Smile

lol.
I'm still using the Dvorak keyboard Smile
This and other things that I read about it convinced me to try it.

I don't think it's worth it for most typists. Of course, ymmv, but it will take a long time to learn the alternate layout, and I'm not sure you're going to get that much of a speed increase.

One thing that would be worth it is a chorded keyboard. Stenographers can type 150+wpm. Those are really expensive, though - and you actually have to learn how to use them.
