I want to buy an oscilloscope, A DSO( digital storage oscilloscope)
I saw one on www.kitsusa.net, a Velleman 230$ 12 Mhz analog bandwidth portable digital storage oscilloscope.
Is it worth buying.
Where can I find cheap, powerfull oscilloscopes??

It looks fine for a portable scope. I guess I would have two questions, do you need a portable scope and do you need a storage scope. You could have a scope that is easier to read and possibly control by purchasing a good used full size scope from Ebay.

I want a portable scope, and if I really need a storage one, I'll fix the one from school.

I don't have any experience with that unit but it does seem to be a good value for what you get. And it does fit you needs.

well, it's older than me( 14) and out of date.
I bet it can't go above 1 MHz.
And if it uses tubes it's just one mor thing that can't be fixed.(can't find tubes today) I prefer a combo, analog CRT display and digital controll circuits and 2 spots.

I made a table of oscilloscopes for hobbyists. You can filter and sort the elements to find the oscilloscope you need.
