So genius here decides to build his own projector by disassembling his LCD monitor and getting a cheap overhead. While taking apart the monitor, one of the ribbons got torn from the circuit board. Is there any way to repair this?

The ribbon was one of three on the width side that produce the image. The 8 going length-wise are totally fine. The picture is totally shot with the exception of white lines that streak up and down, and the distortion of light when I attempt to touch the ribbon to the circuit board. Any suggestions?

If you can take a picture of the connector. There are some that like Eric mentioned can be soldered. I have also seen some connectors that are inserted into a locking connector. These are usually small thin white connectors with a locking section. To re-lock the cable you pull up the two tabs on either side of the connector, insert the cable, then press the tabs back into position.

No idea if this is what you have though without a picture though...

The three black ribbons.

Close-up of one of them.

Each is actually soldered on. I know the plug in kind your talking about, there are actually a couple of those on there but the ones that are broken were somehow soldered on, the only problem is if I did that, I'd have to solder about 16 different needle-sized wires per ribbon and I don't have the tools to do that.

Unfortunately I would have to say that Eric had it right. You would need to solder a bunch of small wires. Once wires I would bend them over gently and put some hot glue on the strands to act as strain relief so they don't break off.
