Hello Everyone,

Sorry, I am really ignorant about lasers generally. My interest is in the decomposition of some particular olefins. This can be done with a Helium Neon laser at 3.39 um, since some olefin molecules happen to absorb at this wavelength. If a mass produced product were to be designed for this olefin gas decomposition, the most favoured components to include would have great reliability and be cheap to manufacture. So my question is, are there diode lasers for the 3.39 um wavelength? Perhaps for applications where He-Ne lasers would be too bulky, expensive, fragile etc.

Thanks for any discussion regarding this.
