Here's a simplified version of the small signal model circuit above.

To use this circuit, we first need to describe how it works. Let's roll up our sleeves and solve for an equation relating the output (V2) to the input(I1). Calling on our basic training (and mine often needs refreshing), write the nodal equations for nodes 1 and 2, then solve for V2 / I1. Plowing through the equations you get

V2 (gm - sC)R1R2
---- = ---------------------------------------
I1 sC(gmR1R2 + R1 + R2) + 1

Probably not the most intuitive equation you've seen! Maybe there's a simpler way to look at this.
