3mm leds and what kind of resistor??

hi i want to put 3mm red leds in my button 360 wireless controller behind the xyba buttons and i want to know what kind of resistor i have to use i dont know much about the leds but i do know how to install them

im using a wireless controller with NON rechargeble batteries


please help Smile theres the link to the leds ill be useing thanx

A 1K resistor (brown, black,red, gold) will work, but I'd go with a brighter led.
The one you showed is a defused indicator LED. I think a clear high output LED would be better, maybe a blue or green one Very Happy

thanx umm could i just use a regular tiny high output light or does it have to be an LED and i need a TUT

An LED would use a lot less power that an incandescent bulb would so it would save on batteries.
Plus they're just better Very Happy
I don't have a controller to open up so I couldn't help you with a tut, sorry.

The 3mm red LED you linked to is only 5 mcd, not very bright. HERE is a 3mm high brightness red LED rated at 7000 mcd.
