I'm Just Curios, As I am very new at this, When i go to like a circuit city and they have car led kits with like 20 leds, how do they run 3.2volt leds off of a 12v battery if it takes more voltage to run the led's then there is put out? also with a 12v adapter for home same idea how could i use like 10 leds witha 12v supply? Thanks, Blasko

You need a current limiting resistor to operate the resistor from a higher voltage.
Please see any of the LEDs listed here for an example of resistor value needed for 12 volt applications.

This calculator will allow you to enter in some data and have a value calculated:

Right, since when you add the LEDs in series the voltage required adds. For example 12 - 3Volt LEDs would need 36 volts to operate.
