I want to build a simple beeper/buzzer that has a range of 1 mile. What I want in it: Send/recieve function, buzzer sound, possibly lights up. Help me, please.

Hi Modio,

Transmitting one mile is quite a long distance. Have a look here:
http://www.rentron.com/PicBasic/RemoteControl.htm

You may find something that will work for your application, keep in mind that 1 mile line of site is very different than 1 mile in a city...

Thanks for the link, Alan. Yeah, thats true about the length, so I say the new distance is 1/4 mile; start out small, build up.
