I am using Win XP, and it comes with a firewall, which I have never really done anything with.
A friend got a virus, even though he had Norton on his system, and later was told that a firewall would have helped him.
I heard that if you are using free anti-virus, that it is better to use the free Zonealarm firewall then the WinXP firewall. _________________ Techi, stay at home mom |

I am using win xp as well. My firewall is zonealarm, but I don't they give any free programs anymore, but still go ahead and check it out. My antivirus is avira. Its also free. Try and get it. I haven't gotten any virus in a long time. Good luck. _________________ Great deals on electronic gadgets!!

XP has so many vulnerabilities, and its not updated regularly.
Also the antivirus must be up to date even a week old database can leave you unprotected. _________________ Viruses are very dangerous and more and more complex, so data are more and more vulnerable. You can stop worrying about that if you have the best free antivirus program, so check out my website. |
