hey all, i've got a school project that requires me to modify and existing device such as a tape player, video camera, or even as simple as a sketchbook, to record data in a city. i'll then be using the same device in another city to be able to compare the data. I was wondering if any of you have done much with modifying any typical (household/easy & cheap to attain) devices for the use of recording data. I'm not positive on what data i'll be recording yet, it could be physical conditions like wind, sun, landscape...or it could be something like social data that would describe the people or emotions of the area. I know this is a pretty vague request but its all i've got to go off of right now, so if any of you have any ideas or similar projects you could reference me too that would be great. i've got access to all the basic electronic devices as well as a fairly large supply of RC Car/Truck components. My knowledge in this area is fairly minimal and being able to apply my application in Paris is a must (airport security, portability, small or able to disassemble and rebuild)
thanks,
