anyone out there done any reverse engineering with these beasties?

i have gotten the patents, all available online data including the few internal graphics but still would like to talk about doing these types of stage lights.

i am old fart that was in the lighting business about 30 years ago.

always wanted a bunch of fancy bell and whislte type light fixtures. just want to kick out the jams one mo time.

OkAY GOT IT WORKING!!!!

first this is overall patent site which talks about the device in general

file:///C:/Users/craZy%20jiM/Desktop/WO2007124822A1%20%20moving%20head%20pantent%20-%20%20(in%20German).pdf
in German but i translated it and i will pm it to you. too big for posting here.

in essence these are the lights that a so wonderful in many tours and television presentations. they move, change color, project variable patterns and many other function all by remote control.

they work via robotic functions to do with servo and step motor control.

words pale as to what they are like in reality. (ha what a concept)

here's a manufacturer's page

http://www.landergruppen.dk/SITE/ProductModel/OBY%205/OBY_5.pdf

for some reason i am having trouble making my brain work toward getting you the requested info.

will work on it

maybe a word of explanation as to why i am so interested in reinventing this particular wheel.

there's always room for improvement

autonomouos stage lighting cueing from the music which itself can be robotized. sort of an update on the old color organ idea.

higher efficiency - smaller light quicker more efficient in relation to power. setuup. etc

different ways to produce color erffectsw likke using PRISMATIC OR CD type diffraction rather than dichroic filters.

maybe a solid state fixture

maybe a single source illuminary with a plurality of heads

tracking objects on stage - cool beans a light always on Mick! no matter how high or who he jumps!!!

anywho just an area i like - like the speed is the thing, dude.....

yes reverend - most holy unknown - that's the creature of my current fantasy hahahahahaha

oh well - thanks

i guess this is such a specialized area that very few (if any) are into it.

oh well nothing ventured - y nada gane (no offense toward any of my amigos - my friend Juan Rojos said that this was right)

BACK TO THE present -

this project is rather ambitious as i must acquire some skills and hone some old ones.

motor control
software developement
mild lighting physics
and others that will become apparent through the journey

BUT

i am retired and sometimes stair at my sheds roof joints and wonder what i am gonna do for the next twenty years aka the rest of my life.

i get just enough money to make this project feasible - over time
